Of the 8 families that I photographed while in Portland, 8 of them had a 3-year old. Assuming you’ve been around a 3-year old, then you know how absolutely fun (& funny) they are. It was a bit like a social experiment shooting these families, as each of the 3-year olds had a distinct personality ranging from shy & calm to enthusiastic & adventurous. The 3-year old in this family belonged to the latter category and had an imagination that could entertain and enthrall for hours. Oh, the fun stories he came up with and the adventures he went on, just in the short hour we were together. I predict that someday he will be an author of best-selling tales about pirates or adventurers or other fun heroes. At the very least he is sure to keep his baby brother vastly entertained in the years to come!
