Welcome, welcome!

Whether it's my home or my blog, I love visitors.  The ones that come to my home to visit add something new and interesting to the mix of daily life. But then they leave again, forcing me to return to daily life without their smiles and laughter.  The great thing about blog visitors is that they can come again and again, and need never leave.

Photographer Vincent Versace said, "We came to photography because the world moves us in such a way that we want to photograph what we see so others can be moved the way we were."  And so it was for me.  Despite my deplorable skills with a canvas and paints, I found the joy of creativity with a camera.

So welcome.  Make yourself at home.  Enjoy the people in love, the gorgeous details, and adorable families.  I'd love to hear from you.

PS. And as much as I love having visitors, I love being a visitor!  Although based in Chicago, IL I have had the pleasure traveling around the world to capture weddings and families, and I would love to come visit you.  Live across the country (or continent) or planning a destination wedding?  I'm a wonderful guest.  And I bring my camera.

Love: Angela & Edgar ~ Chicago Wedding Photographer

I have one more family shoot left to reveal – one very special family indeed – but until those are ready, I thought I’d share a few of my favorites from a wedding I recently assisted the fabulous Laurie Peacock with a few weeks ago.

I would guess that 90+% of the couples who pledge “Through sickness and in health” have been fortunate enough to not have to test the sickness part of those vows.  Angela & Edgar have had to experience the sickness part, and it was immediately apparent that it has only made their bond stronger, their love surer, and their future steadfast.  Though they are a modern couple with a modern tale of how they met and fell in love, they are traditional in all of the best possible ways.  It was an honor to be there to document even a small part of their special day.

Angela carried several family heirlooms in honor of her grandmother.  The adorable retro shoes, however, were all her.

The walk down to the alter was a long one but Angela and her father held on tight to each other.

The bride-to-be has often had months to adjust to something on her finger while the groom appears fascinated by this new thing on his hand.
