Chicago Photographer + Kelly Ry Photography bio picture

Welcome, welcome!

Whether it's my home or my blog, I love visitors.  The ones that come to my home to visit add something new and interesting to the mix of daily life. But then they leave again, forcing me to return to daily life without their smiles and laughter.  The great thing about blog visitors is that they can come again and again, and need never leave.

Photographer Vincent Versace said, "We came to photography because the world moves us in such a way that we want to photograph what we see so others can be moved the way we were."  And so it was for me.  Despite my deplorable skills with a canvas and paints, I found the joy of creativity with a camera.

So welcome.  Make yourself at home.  Enjoy the people in love, the gorgeous details, and adorable families.  I'd love to hear from you.

PS. And as much as I love having visitors, I love being a visitor!  Although based in Chicago, IL I have had the pleasure traveling around the world to capture weddings and families, and I would love to come visit you.  Live across the country (or continent) or planning a destination wedding?  I'm a wonderful guest.  And I bring my camera.

Engaged: Marni & Matt ~ Chicago Engagement Photographer

This post probably should start out with a warning similar to the one I emailed this couple when I sent them the link to their online gallery: There are a TON of photos.  But this was an engagement shoot extravaganza (!) so it deserves nothing less than total visual gluttony.

Moving on. :-)

Marni & Matt – how I love thee! Let me count the (many) ways…The fun, the gorgeous, the passion and the smoking-hot-ness. I was in photographer’s heaven!

When I arrived at their home, Marni (a personal chef) had a little food prep to do in anticipation of hosting a feast for Mother’s Day so we captured a few around the house and with their little love, Gizmo.

Matt & Marni love to go to the Farmer’s Market so we decided to try out a new one, The Chicago French Market, where we sampled cheese, bread, beer & more.

Looking this hot is tiring work, so we re-fueled at Al’s Beef, a Chicago classic.

Matt & Marni wanted to have their wedding at a rustic farm but with all that rustic-ness, comes the authentic smell of cow dung. Less than ideal for a swanky soire, but tolerable (and fun!) for an afternoon of picture taking.

You two…Gorgeous.
