It’s been a crazy couple of weeks for me but I could not let another day go by without sharing the rest of Natalia & Todd’s fantastic day.  A rooftop ceremony at Lightology with a gorgeous view of the Chicago skyline, followed by a feast to end all feasts at the Brazilian steakhouse, Zed451. From beginning to end these two laughed and snuggled, and partied it up with their closest friends and family.  It is couples like Todd & Natalia who make me feel so absolutely lucky to have this job.  But more than anything, it is clear to everyone who sees them together that they are each convinced that they are the luckiest in the world to have found the other.

Angela & Russ are headed to Bora Bora for their amazing honeymoon but maybe this sneak peek will catch them before their flight leaves…

A family is a group of persons who are bonded together, sharing love, tears, and laughter, and around whom you can be at your best and your worst. It defies blood ties and even last names.  In the case of this family, they crossed continents to become complete.  Gibson had been home for just a week or two when I had the honor of capturing this family, but it was ever so clear that he was very much, well, home. Right where he was meant to be.

I love it.

They say that the over time, wedding photographers attract clients whose style matches their own, in both personality of the couple and wedding day style.  Natalia & Todd are a perfect example of that.  Our early Sunday morning engagement shoot was not the ideal time for any of us (early! Sunday! hot & humid! early!) but they were so much fun to tag along after as we roamed the city, starting in their neighborhood of Lincoln Park, on the train to downtown, and roaming the streets around the Art Institute and State Street.  Somehow they managed to look fantastic the entire time, despite the early (!), the heat & humidity (!), and all that walking.  (Special props go to Natalia for rocking it all out in fabulous shoes. She’s assured me her wedding day shoes are no less fabulous. Can’t wait!)

Hey Todd, YOU GO BOY.

When observing Hannah & Matt together, it is clear they have had years to hone their relationship into one that is calm and strong, and yet still playful, as seen on both their wedding day and when documenting their engagement.  They fit together in that way that doesn’t require words, they just are who they are together. And it’s a joy to capture.  Their wedding last Saturday at Loyola University was a sweet affair with only their closest family and friends.  The weather for their ceremony overlooking Lake Michigan was perfect, and the grounds of the university were stunning, offering so much eye candy I was like a child who feasted on the gorgeousness as we walked around to capture portraits of the new bride & groom.
